ICAI works with the top manufacturers of synthetic rubber including Zeon Corporation. Applications include: automotive parts, industrial goods, plastic modification, adhesives, sporting equipment and other compounding goods.
Acrylonitrile
Used in the production of synthetic fibers, resins, plastics, and rubber for a variety of consumer goods including: textiles, food containers, toys, automotive parts, dinnerware, telephones, etc.
Thermoplastic Rubber
ITOCHU supplies thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), including SBS, SIS and SEBS.Combining the characteristics of rubber and plastic, TPE's are easily processed and can be used in many areas, including overmolding onto plastic substrates for soft grip applications, asphalt modification for roads and roofing, pressure-sensitive adhesives for tape and labels, footwear, and medical devices. Other uses include various industrial and automotive applications such as air bags, tubing and seals.
Synthetic Rubber (BR)
Founded in 1950, Zeon Corporation was the first Japanese company to produce synthetic rubber. ITOCHU supplies Nipol BR polybutadiene rubber for high impact polystyrene (HIPS) applications. Nipol BR contains such an especially high cis content of 98% that it exhibits outstanding characteristics, such as excellent abrasion resistance, high resilience to aging and excellent low temperature flexibility. Exceptional quality and consistency have made Zeon Corporation one of the most sought after producers of synthetic rubber in the world.
